Advice on Visa Selection
VISIT VISA AND STUDENT VISA ARE RECOMMENDED
IDB Bali officially requires international students to apply for a visit visa or student visa. However, the visa is not checked when studies start. Therefore, it is possible for those traveling on a short notice to enter Indonesia even with a tourist visa or visa on arrival, but not for STUDY.
Applying for a Visit Visa (211)
CURRENTLY, THE MOST COMMON VISA FOR STUDENTS IS CALLED “VISIT VISA” (211)
The visa has to be applied for with a visa agency, exclusively appointed by IDB Bali. The visa is usually valid for a maximum stay of 60 days initially. It can and will be extended locally by the agent, for a maximum of 60 days each time. The total maximum stay is 180 days. IDB Bali will provide the sponsorship for this visa.
Required Documents
- VALID PASSPORT, MIN. 6 MONTHS VALID
- VACCINE CERTIFICATE, FULLY VACCINATED
- COLOR PHOTOGRAPHS
- PAYMENT RECEIPT, VISA FEE PAYMENT PROOF
If your documents are incomplete, the visa agent will contact you to inform you which documents are missing.
- Please check thoroughly if your documents are complete to ensure fast processing. Especially when you are in a hurry, this is extremely important. The visa has to be used within 90 days of the date of issuance. That means you have to enter Indonesia within 90 days after you get your visa.
- The visit visa process takes between 1-2 weeks, depending on the chosen option at the visa agent. As soon as you receive the official letter of acceptance from IDB Bali you can go ahead and apply for the visit visa.
- Please be aware that entry requirements and visa regulations are constantly changing. Inform yourself about this at the embassy responsible for your country or at the licensed visa agent.
